The 2017–18 Teacher Time series focuses on effective teaching practices that support children's development and learning in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF) domains. Each webisode focuses on one domain and selected sub-domains. Webisodes also feature teachers and family child care providers who share their challenges and successes in working with young children. Learn about specific teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of all children, including children who are dual language learners, children with disabilities or suspected delays, and children with other special needs. Find out about strategies for using ongoing assessment to understand children’s development in each domain.
The series includes four webisodes for infant/toddler teachers and family child care providers, and four for preschool teachers and family child care providers.
Topics for the webinars include:
- Social and Emotional Development
- Language and Literacy
- Cognition
- Perceptual, Motor, and Physical Development
Approaches to Learning is referenced in each domain-specific webisode. An additional special webisode on adult self-care and mindfulness—Time for You: Self Care Strategies—is also part of the series. It is designed for teachers and family child care providers working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
