Teachers may use this guide as a resource to respond to children’s interests and curiosity as they explore the many aspects of the physical world they live in. Through planned explorations, teachers will engage children in the process of scientific inquiry.
Teacher's Guide
Some of the topics teachers may choose to examine with children include motion, friction, pushing and pulling, sound, light, shadows, and reflections. To guide these explorations, teachers will find suggested activities, along with related vocabulary and recommended books and materials for each topic.
Recommended Materials
Teachers will find a list of materials, supplies, and books to facilitate children’s science explorations of the physical world around them. The list recommends materials to document investigations and experiments and to explore motion, magnetism, sound, and light.
