Teachers may use this guide as a resource to respond to children’s interests and curiosity as they explore the human body and its five senses: sight, touch, smell, taste and sound.
Teacher's Guide
This guide focuses on hands, feet, internal organs, muscles, the human skeleton, and growth. Through planned explorations, teachers will engage children in the process of scientific inquiry. To guide these explorations, teachers will find suggested experiences, along with related vocabulary and recommended books and materials for each topic.
Recommended Materials
Teachers can enhance the learning experiences contained in the MESS teacher’s guide entitled My Body My Senses. To prepare for the learning experiences in the guide, teachers will find a useful list of recommended supplies and equipment such as: posters, illustrations, photos, and objects to explore.
