This section focuses on several aspects of including preschool-age children who have disabilities in programs and settings with their typically developing peers. The sessions provide an overview of the benefits and rationale for inclusion, as well as practical and concrete strategies for making the Individualized Education Program process collaborative. They also show what it takes for families and service providers to make sure children with disabilities are given the supports and opportunities they need to flourish in preschool programs with their typically developing peers. This section presents the perspectives from many stakeholders, including family members, service providers, stakeholders, and administrators from several service delivery systems, about what makes inclusion work.
