Transition experiences matter. When efforts are taken to foster positive and effective transitions to kindergarten, children and families experience gains that reach far beyond the kindergarten classroom. Hosting and planning a transition-to-kindergarten summit brings everybody involved in the process together to consider the importance of this transition. It’s also an opportunity to learn about best transition practices and partner in efforts to strengthen the four types of connections that support child and family success:
- Child-School
- Family-School
- Program-School
- Community-school
Use these helpful planning materials as you move through the steps of creating a summit team, planning and holding a summit, and following up after the summit to plan for improvement.
