Programs can use this sequenced guidance as they implement the recommendations in the Classroom Language Models (CLMs): A Leader's Implementation Manual. It provides further instruction on selecting a model that fits program needs and reflects the language needs of children, teaching staff, and families. It also helps programs adapt the CLMs to fit their unique circumstances. Implementing CLMs are important to meet the individual needs of all children, from birth to age 5, by supporting high-quality instruction and promoting school success. This guide is designed for Head Start center-based programs. It may support family child care providers and home visitors to be intentional about the languages they use with children and families. Other early childhood education programs may also benefit from the information.
