The Office of Head Start's (OHS) "Bring a Principal to Your Head Start Program" celebration is happening again this October. It will highlight the ways Head Start and receiving school management teams can collaborate for children's success.
Collaborating with receiving schools:
- Builds bridges with receiving schools
- Helps people understand the value of Head Start in their community
- Enhances the respect and regard of Head Start programs among local school principals
The “Bring a Principal to Your Head Start” celebration aims to build connections between Head Start programs and their receiving schools through face-to-face meetings during the month of October. Head Start programs may invite a principal to read a book to children or have coffee with the management team. In other cases, Head Start management may visit the principal at the receiving school. Any connection counts!
Head Start programs are also encouraged to consider collaborating with receiving schools around data-sharing, professional development, coordinated enrollment, and family support services.
Those who “bring a principal to Head Start” are asked to post images and videos of their meetings using #LeadersinSchoolReadiness on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
We'll see you on social media!
