Family Engagement

Engaging Parents as Advocates and Leaders Webinar Series

Head Start programs engage families as advocates and leaders in the classroom and at home. Families are encouraged to join in all program activities, particularly through parent and policy committees and the Policy Council. When parents take on leadership roles, families, programs, and communities benefit.

New and experienced staff can watch this webinar series to learn how to support parents as advocates and leaders in programs and at home. It will focus on:

  • Best practices to engage families who are interested in developing their leadership skills
  • New approaches to creating culturally and linguistically responsive strategies that encourage diverse parents to build their advocacy and leadership skills
