Positive and goal-oriented relationships between parents and staff provide a safe place where families can explore their hopes, share their challenges, and let us know how best to support them.
Family services professionals and other staff who work with families can explore this four-module learning series to enhance their knowledge and practice about engaging families using strengths-based attitudes, relationship-based practices, and reflective practice. The course is accessible on the Individualized Professional Development (iPD) Portfolio, and continuing education units are awarded for completion.
The Building Partnerships with Families Course includes the four modules listed below:
- Positive, Goal-oriented Relationships — Explore the concept of positive, goal-oriented relationships and their importance in your work with families.
- Strengths-based Attitudes — Learn about strengths-based attitudes and how to use them to build positive relationships with families.
- Relationship-based Practices — Examine relationship-based practices and how to use them to build relationships with families.
- Reflective Practice — Build on your knowledge about reflective practice and explore new ideas about using it in your work.
This iPD course aligns with the Building Partnerships with Families Series.
